Carla Alexandar
Бразилия
Carla's deep, joyful voice is compared to that of Shade; her voice is heard repeatedly on radio stations, concert venues, and clubs. Her debut lounge album "Poesia" was released in 2002 and had tremendous success, being reissued multiple times worldwide. Carla's style is characterized by a unique blend of various contemporary music genres – New Jazz, Lounge, jazzy house, Drum'n'bass, Break beat, House, Brazilian music – making it easy to understand why well-known DJs like Kruder & Dorfmeister, LTJ Bukem, Coldcut, and Phill Misson collaborate with her.
The new album "Sambamuffin" embodies the features of the singer's collaboration with Ladybug from Digable Planets, one of New York's best musicians Nickodemus, and the London funk/hip-hop team Steady Diggin Workshop. "Sambamuffin" organically combines hip hop, funk, break beat, samba, and bossa nova rhythms, with lyrics in Portuguese adding to this charm.
