Crazy P Soundsystem — a more respectable moniker for the British band Crazy Penis — residents of London's Fabric club, acquaintances of Massive Attack and Faithless, and simply musicians who have mastered playing pure dance music with live instruments. A former Adidas store employee, photo lab consultant, second-rate company personnel manager, and a couple more people of obscure professions, they bring polish to pure funk and pristine disco with the temperament of Motown's golden-era icons, touring with the intensity of a small European circus. Their vocalist Danielle Moore, surrounded by vintage Moog synthesizers, embodies this aesthetic — always in sky-high heels and an incredible dress.
