Delorean

The music of Delorean resembles the danceable funk released by Factory Records during the best years of the famous label. Their perfect rhythm technique and compositional abilities demonstrate various musical moments.

The band was formed in 2000, and initially, Delorean worked in the synth-pop genre, but soon turned to the creative legacy of 80s post-punk. It's hard not to notice obvious musical allusions to Underworld, New Order, The Cure, and Daft Punk, but the way they skillfully break the genre boundaries of the great bands that influenced them, along with their truly hypnotic arrangements, undoubtedly makes them special.

Delorean began playing in their hometown of Zarautz, but after signing with one of the oldest independent labels in Spain, BCore Disc, they moved to the indie capital of their country - Barcelona. Despite their national roots and close ties to the vibrant underground Spanish scene, their popularity has reached Japan, Germany, the UK, and the USA.

The band has released four albums, one of which includes remixes by Spanish DJs who dissected the band's work according to the latest trends in the dance floor. The musicians themselves define their style pretentiously yet exhaustively as "melodic-dance-hardcore-post-punk." They also have several unusual EPs and the album Transatlaantic KK, released on Simple Social Graces. Among their latest tracks, the remix of The Teenagers - Love No stands out strongly, well known to visitors of foreign blogs.

Delorean's concerts are an exciting dance "brain melt", and listening to their recordings on headphones in the subway, one inevitably starts to dance, just like those funny fools in the iPod commercials. Delorean is slowly but surely continuing to consistently break down pop music - to the delight of all connoisseurs of true, uncalculated creativity. They successfully use beats from the 80s, combining them with house music, guitar parts in the style of The Police, and the "darkside" elements of The Cure. All this does not prevent Delorean from remaining an absolutely danceable band.
