Hess is More
Дания
The Hess is More project is the brainchild of Danish musician Mikkel Hess, who has gained popularity primarily as a gifted composer. Mikkel has written music for films, performances, computer games, and even for commercials; he has also collaborated with the Royal Danish Theatre, National Danish Television, the Danish Film School, and many European and American film studios. In the summer of 2002, Mikkel successfully graduated from the conservatory with a degree in percussion instruments — playing the drums native to him, taught by the legendary Ed Thigpen, one of the most famous American jazz drummers. Hess participated in the recording of many nu-jazz albums for his friends as a drummer and co-author of some compositions. These works were recognized with various awards: the Danish electronic collective Luke with their self-titled album won the top prize in the "Best Debut of 2003" category from the Danish Music Awards; the quartet Hess/Potter/Vincentz/Teepe with the album "you should not do this if you are in a hurry" received the grand prize from the prestigious Jazzpar festival.
