Octave One

Octave One is the creation of the creative minds of the phenomenal Detroit natives, the Borden brothers. They debuted (along with Carl Craig, Marc Kinchen, and Jay Denham) in 1990 with the track I Believe on the monumental compilation Techno 2: The Next Generation by the label 10 Records. To date, Octave One has released more than one hundred releases.

They have successfully collaborated with Derrick May, Underground Resistance, Eddie Fowlkes, Juan Atkins, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, Members of the House, Terrence Parker, and The Martian (Red Planet) and have remixed Massive Attack, Akabu (Joey Negro), DJ Rolando (Jaguar), Steve Bug, John Thomas, The Trampps, Rhythm is Rhythm, and Inner City.

The Borden brothers have released many classic techno hits on their own label 430 West Records - Falling in Dub as Random Noise Generation (another project of the brothers), DJ Rolando - Jaguar, Aux 88 - My A.U.X. Mind (on the sister label 430 West Direct Beat), and tracks by Octave One - Empower, Nicolette, The X-files, Meridian, and Siege. In 2000, the most successful release from Octave One, Blackwater, was released, subsequently licensed for more than thirty compilations, with a total circulation worldwide of over one million copies (!!!). Blackwater was released as a full release in five countries - the USA, the UK, Spain, Germany, and Australia, and has long resided in the bags of the top DJs on our planet - Little Louie Vega, Danny Teneglia, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Jonathan Peters, Laurent Garnier, and many others.
