Parov Stelar – real name Marcus Füereder – was born in 1974 and lives and works in Linz. His music career began in 2000, and within less than a decade he achieved significant success, blending jazz freedom with house groove and break beat. Marcus heads the Etage Noir Recordings label and has released over a dozen records and three albums. His work has appeared on independent labels including Raum...Music, Irma Records, Big City Music, and major labels such as Universal, Warner, Sony/BMG and EMI. His music serves both club and home listening – a versatility difficult to achieve. Beyond studio and label work, he actively tours worldwide as a DJ and performs live as Parov Stelar & Band with saxophonist Marcus Elkmayr, bassist Stefan Hölzl, drummer Andreas Lettner, and vocalist Beate Baumgartner. Beyond dance electronic music, he has also earned a strong reputation creating sound, video and film installations.
