Mike Truman and Chris Healings from Hybrid managed to combine John Barry, Stevie Wonder, Claude Debussy, Peter Gabriel, and Sven Vath in their music. Their album Wide Angle, recorded in collaboration with vocalist Julia Cruz and the Federal Symphony Orchestra of Russia, brought Hybrid fame as the leading sound experimenters in the UK. Work on the soundtracks for the films Man On Fire, Domino, and Kingdom of Heaven solidified Hybrid's title of "the most cinematic musicians". In 1994, thanks to Lee Burridge, the single of Mike and Chris, Symphony, made its way into the DJ bags of Sasha and John Digweed, eventually becoming the main decoration of the famous mix Northern Exposure. After such a promising start, the duo from Wells swiftly conquered the next peak by recording the incredibly complex disk Wide Angle, which combined breaks with Julia Cruz's angelic vocals and a string section from the Federal Symphony Orchestra of Russia. Such an unusual cross of genres created a storm of emotions in the music world, leading Hybrid on a "long-playing" American tour opening for Moby. In the intervals between trips, the musicians managed to create remixes for stars like REM, Alanis Morissette, Carl Cox, Jean-Michel Jarre. After enjoying their travels, Hybrid settled down in the studio and today mostly works for film. Their music can be heard on the soundtracks of the films Man On Fire, Domino, and Kingdom of Heaven.
