Receptor

The real name of the Chilean musician performing under the nickname Receptor is Jorge Cortes. Jorge is an interesting and promising artist working in the same musical direction as his famous compatriot Ricardo Villalobos. Based in Santiago, he manages the local label Ojo de Apolo (www.ojodeapolo.cl). From 1997 to 2002, Jorge worked under the name Cancer and released music on the Cronica label (cronicaelectronica.org), creating music with a steady, gently pulsing rhythm and distinctly pronounced texture. From 2002 onwards under the name Receptor, the artist began developing a sound close to blip-house. Receptor releases music on several internet and vinyl labels and performs in clubs throughout Chile, Argentina, and Europe.
