The Franco-American band Spontane emerged in New York in 2002. It consists of six musicians: the French David Aknin (drums), David Stanzke (keyboards), Eric Pailhe (saxophone/sound effects), Julien Taillefer (guitar), Roger Cazenave (bass/synthesizer), and the American Bruce Sherfield (vocals).
The band actively participates in various festivals in the USA, the Netherlands, and France: Musique Volantes, Printemps de Bourge, Jazz a Luz, Sous la plage, Effervessonnes, Batofar, etc. Spontane performs alongside Buena Vista Social Club, Klub des Loosers, Puppetmastaz, Roots Manuva, Dr. Israel.
In 2005, "God is Dead in Good Luck City," the band's first album, was released in France, by that time already having achieved global fame. It was warmly received by both the average listener and music critics.
